How to work well

August 2014

Move mountains. — They say it can’t be built. That’s why they don’t work here.

Never settle. — Ship the best in class, or ship nothing and learn for what’s to come.

Stop talking, start making. — Bite off as little as you possibly can. Then iterate.

Candor is king. — Be effusive in your frank, constructive feedback. Great things rise from the ashes of mediocre things.

Work with intent. — When you plan, define what success looks like, not how to get there.

Drink responsibly. — Sip your cognitive energy wisely. You’ve only got a cup full each day.

Remember the pale blue dot. — Take your work seriously without taking yourself seriously.

Hire for strength. — Define and identify needed strengths, not lack of weakness.
